The Association for Researchers in Psychology and Health (ARPH) aims to stimulate and coordinate the academic study and application of psychological approaches to health and illness within Belgium and The Netherlands.
ARPH is a non-profit organization that was founded in April 2011 by a group of scientifically oriented psychologists interested in advancing the scientific study of psychology and health and its representation at the national level.
The Association’s mission is to stimulate and coordinate the academic study of psychological approaches to health and illness by providing a platform for researchers to exchange knowledge and research initiatives on the study of health promotion, prevention of illness, and rehabilitation, to direct the development of new theoretical and methodological approaches to the study of psychology and health, and to initiate regular meetings between institutes and persons involved in the scientific study of psychology and health.
Membership of the association is open for researchers in the scientific field of psychology and health who are affiliated with a research institute in the Netherlands or Belgium. Membership is approved by the board of ARPH and available in one of two categories: full member or (PhD) student.
Activities of the ARPH:
- An annual conference for ARPH members and researchers in the field of psychology and health
- Co-financing of symposia organized by ARPH members
- Newsletter on recent developments in the academic field of psychology and health
