ASSOCIATION FOR RESEARCHERS
IN PSYCHOLOGY AND HEALTH
The Association for Researchers in Psychology and Health (ARPH) aims to stimulate and coordinate the academic study and application of psychological approaches to health and illness within Belgium and The Netherlands. The Association’s mission is to stimulate and coordinate the academic study of psychological approaches to health and illness by providing a platform for researchers to exchange knowledge and research initiatives on the study of health promotion, prevention of illness, and rehabilitation, to direct the development of new theoretical and methodological approaches to the study of psychology and health, and to initiate regular meetings between institutes and persons involved in the scientific study of psychology and health.
Contribute to the ARPH Conference 2022!
June 16 & 17 in Egmond aan Zee
We are looking forward to the first spring/summer version of the ARPH conference on June 16 and 17. We would like to extend a warm invitation to the conference, to exchange state-of-art research findings and innovative approaches concerning the field of psychology and health. By meeting fellow researchers throughout the field, the conference provides ample opportunities to inspire, exchange ideas and form collaborations.
In addition to traditional presentation formats such as symposia, oral and poster presentations, the program will facilitate interactive engagement of both junior and more senior researchers like workshops and the Meet a Mentor program. Abstracts can be submitted until April 8 through the conference website. In addition, several prices will be awarded at the conference, for which you can apply, including the Young Talent Award and ARPH thesis award. Information on these prices can also be found on the conference website.
We are especially pleased to announce our distinguished keynote speakers at the conference:
- Prof.dr. Andrea Evers (Leiden University)
- Prof.dr. Rens van der Schoot (Utrecht University)
- Prof.dr. Falko Sniehotta (University of Heidelberg, University of Newcastle)
Hopefully the weather will provide us with the perfect scenery to connect research to strolling the beach; regardless of the weather, the famous bowling party will be part of the program for sure!
The Association of Researchers in Psychology and Health (ARPH) organizes an annual conference. Each year, the conference is hosted by a different research group that is represented in the ARPH.
The next ARPH conference will take place on June 16 and 17 in Egmond aan Zee! Due to a combination of unforeseen circumstances, the ARPH conference will be postponed until June 16 and 17 in 2022. It promises to become a unique conference in a number of regards: 1) it will be organized by the board of ARPH instead of a single ARPH-associated institution at one of our favorite ARPH conference locations: Hotel Zuiderduin in Egmond aan Zee; 2) after last years online 10th ARPH conference, this will be our 10th ‘live’ conference.
The conference program includes keynote lectures from leading national and international researchers in the area of health psychology, oral and poster presentation sessions, e-health demonstrations, a PhD activity, and a roundtable discussion.
Past conferences were held online (2021) in Egmond aan Zee (2019 & 2020), Tilburg (2018), Leiden (2017), Maastricht (2016), Gent (2015), Groningen (2014), Enschede (2013) and Lunteren (2012).
Become a member of ARPH and enjoy the benefits of a discount on the conference, receiving job postings in the field and a newsletter with recent developments in the field of psychology and research.
