Health psychology showcase
During the ARPH conference in February, the health psychology showcase book was launched. The showcase book presents a collection of portraits of health psychologists describing how they apply their skills and knowledge to improve health. The goal of the showcase book is to create more awareness of what health psychologist do and have to offer in a range of health-related settings, varying from the healthcare setting to the industry. More information about the showcase can be found here.
ARPH conference 2017
This year's ARPH conference was again a great succes. The conference was held on February 2nd and 3rd in the vibrant atmosphere of the Volkenkunde museum in Leiden. With three inspiring keynotes, 20 fascinating oral presentation sessions, and 54 excellent poster presentations, the scientific programme provided us with enough food for thought. During the conference dinner, there was ample opportunity to catch up with colleagues and enjoy great food and music.
We would like to congratulate this year's award winners:
- PhD thesis award: Inge van Bruinessen (NIVEL), PatientTIME. Participatory development and evaluation of a web-based, pre-visit communication tool for patients with malignant lymphoma.
- Best poster: Hilmar Zech (Leiden University), Measuring approach-avoidance motivations in the field.
- Best oral presentation: Janice Sandjojo (Leiden University), Training support staff to promote self-management in people with intellectual disabilities: a mixed methods study.
We hope to see you again at next year's conference which will take place on January 25th - 26th in Tilburg!
